About the series
A série Corpo-Mancha (2025) é um estudo sobre o corpo do artista no espaço doméstico. A proposta é olhar este corpo e tensionar as concepções correntes sobre masculinidade, que deve ser heróica, musculosa e sempre pronta para ação. Aqui o gesto é inverso, propõem-se uma relação íntima com o espaço ao mesmo tempo que muitas das fotografias evocam a contemplação. Além disso, as manchas corporatis, tais como pintas, estrias, dobras, pêlos, geralmente apagadas e escondidas, são aqui mostradas, sem pudor, de forma a tensionar o corpo ascéptico e uma pretensa masculinidade universal.
About the series
The series Body-Stain (2025) is a study of the artist’s body within the domestic space. The proposal is to examine this body and challenge current conceptions of masculinity, which is expected to be heroic, muscular, and always ready for action. Here, the gesture is inverted; an intimate relationship with the space is proposed, while many of the photographs evoke contemplation. Furthermore, bodily marks, such as moles, stretch marks, folds, and hair, which are generally erased and hidden, are shown here, without shame, in order to challenge the aseptic body and a supposed universal masculinity.
